Grad gets paid $25,000 to Stay in School
While most university and college graduates hang up their caps and gowns after graduation, three young professionals have chosen to stay on and dedicate their careers to the field of educational advancement. Murphy Champagne, Katharina Prince and Wahida Lakhani were each awarded $25,000 TD Insurance 5Meloche Monnex Fellowships during an Awards Gala at the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) annual conference. The Fellowship recipients were recognized for their strong leadership skills and valuable work in educational advancement and will be paired with a host school for a year-long Fellowship, working hands-on in at least three areas of advancement including: alumni relations, fundraising and development, communications, and student recruitment. The winners were Murphy Champagne, from Cambrian College, Katharina Prince, from Nipissing University, and Wahida Lakhani, from St. Lawrence College.
