Forget-Me-Not Alzheimer's Art Auction
On Friday May 4th, an Art Auction was held on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society at King's Town School. The fund raiser was the idea of KTS grade 8 student Tarrah Ethier. Tarrah, who is the the co-head girl for the school decided to run the auction as her personal school project. She thought it was a perfect opportunity to bring attention to local artists like Jamie MacDonald, Heather Chitty, Phileen Dickinson, Randal Donner as well as many others and at the same time raise money for a great cause. Tarrah saw the link between the ravaging effects that Alzheimers has on the human mind and how art and the arts help expand our minds. Her event raised more that $1200 for the local chapter.
